'le paysagiste': live soundtrack

This live soundtrack reimagines the soundscape for Jacques Drouin’s ‘Le Paysagiste’ (The Mindscape, 1976) with Ruaidhri’s piece ‘The Second Tear Says:’. Using the video animation as a live score, the delicate sounds of singing voices, acoustic guitars and the performer’s physical contact with the music box are fed into a haunting digital feedback system. Drouin’s acclaimed animation follows 'an artist stepping inside his painting and wandering through a symbolically rich landscape' - ideas which are explored through the live musical performance.

This special pairing of ‘The Second Tear Says:’ and ‘Le Paysagiste’ was premiered at the Contemporary Music Centre of Ireland’s Showcase Event in Café OTO, London. The studio recording is featured on New Music:: New Ireland  3, and on the debut ‘i am rhino and ruin’ EP.
